"Bengaluru's Heat Wave: Residents Adapt Amid Rapid Urbanization and Water Crisis"

Dr. Puviarasan, a member of the India Meteorological Department, highlighted the correlation between rapid urbanization and the soaring temperatures in Bengaluru.

Residents of the city have been compelled to alter their daily routines to cope with the intense heat. One resident lamented the drastic change in weather conditions, recalling a time when outdoor activities were enjoyable. Another resident emphasized the importance of staying hydrated amidst the scorching heat and also mentioned the prevalent water scarcity issue in Bengaluru.

Moreover, Bengaluru is experiencing warmer nights, with minimum temperatures reaching new highs, surpassing those of Delhi and Gurugram. The IT hub is eagerly awaiting summer showers, expected around April 14, in hopes of alleviating the oppressive heat.

This heat wave in Bengaluru, known for its moderate climate, exacerbates the existing water crisis in the city. Recent reports indicate residents resorting to water conservation measures due to the scarcity in their neighborhoods, attributing the situation to the negligent implementation of development projects that failed to address groundwater levels.
