"PM Modi Clashes with Congress Chief Over Article 370: Election Rally Drama Unfolds"

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a counterattack against Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge's remarks regarding the revocation of special status to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 of the Constitution. Kharge, speaking at a political event in Jaipur, Rajasthan, responded to a question about the scrapping of special status to Jammu and Kashmir by stating, "Arre bhai, yahan ke logon se kya wasta hai (what has it got to do with the people here)?" He also mistakenly referred to Article 371 instead of Article 370, which the Congress later acknowledged as a slip of the tongue.

In response to Kharge's comments, PM Modi questioned why the Congress chief believed the matter of Jammu and Kashmir was irrelevant. Addressing an election rally in Bihar's Nawada, PM Modi expressed his dismay over Kharge's statement, emphasizing that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India. He highlighted the sacrifices made by brave individuals from Bihar and Rajasthan in defending Jammu and Kashmir and criticized Kharge's remarks as reflective of the "tukde-tukde gang" mentality.

PM Modi's reference to the "tukde-tukde gang" term is often used by right-wing parties to criticize left-backed groups and their supporters. It originated after anti-national slogans were raised at an event in Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru University.

Home Minister Amit Shah also condemned Kharge's remarks, stating that it was "shameful" to hear such comments. He reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India, and every state and citizen has a stake in it.

In the Nawada rally, PM Modi campaigned for BJP candidate Vivek Thakur, who is contesting for the Lok Sabha seat. Polling for Nawada, Gaya, Aurangabad, and Jamui Lok Sabha constituencies in Bihar will take place in the first phase on April 19.

Under the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) seat-sharing arrangement in Bihar for the Lok Sabha polls, the BJP will contest 17 seats, while its ally Janata Dal (United) will contest 16 seats. The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) will contest from five Lok Sabha seats, while the Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) will each contest one seat.
